* The Fairmount Student Council is sponsoring a Scary Movie Night on Friday, Oct 27th. Check out the posters in the hallways for details. Sign up in Ms. Vrchota's room by 3:30 this Thursday, October 19th!

*NHS Students – please sign up for 1(one) time slot to work the book fair. Thank you!

*Any JH Girls interested in participating in basketball, stop in Ms. Vrchota’s room to get the informational letter. There will be a player/parent meeting at 7:30 on Tuesday, October 24th in Fairmount. Practice begins Monday, October 30th.

*“Big News! There will be fall try outs for Varsity and Jr Varsity Boys’ Basketball Cheer. We have one Varsity position to fill and would like to enhance our Jr Varsity squad. If you are currently on the Jr Varsity squad and wish to try out for the Varsity position, you are more than welcome to do so. Try out practices will be Sunday, Oct 22nd from 1-3 and Sunday, Oct 29th from 1-2. The tryouts will be on the 29th of October at 2pm. GO TIGER CHEER!”

*Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy Program has been the VFW’s premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 40,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on a patriotic theme. This year’s theme is “American History: Our Hope for the Future” E. Any students in grades 9-12 are eligible. VFW Post 3342 out of Sisseton is the sponsor. Please contact Ms. Davidson for more information!

*Sisseton Snow Queen Pageant will be held on Saturday, November 11th at the Sisseton Performing Arts center at 7:30pm. Any Freshmen or Senior girls interested in participating, please stop in the office for more information. There is also a link on the Sisseton School website: http://sisseton.k12.sd.us Deadline for sign-up in Friday, October 20th.

*BSN sports have opened an online basketball store for us. This store is open to anyone (students, coaches, staff, and families) and a good resource to get a good deal on the newest basketball shoes. The coat drive will run from October 2nd - October 27th.

o The concert is at 7:00pm – family and friends are encouraged to attend;

§ Admission is $5.00 for adults; $3.00 for students 7-12th; grades K-6th are free

o Students need to pay $7.45 to Mrs. Kemnitz for the lunch and supper meals. Please remember to bring clothes for the concert – Boys should wear dress pants (khakis are fine) and a button shirt or sweater. Girls should wear nice dresses (no shorter than 1 inch above the knee) or pants outfits. No blue jeans for the concert please.

· SWCC Wellness Screenings for K-6th graders, starting at 9:00

*Bethania Youth Group is hosting a BYG THING (Together Holy In Never-failing God) on Sunday from 5:00 - 6:30 at Bethania. ALL students from 8th - 12th grade are welcome to join us for a campfire, s’mores, games and a short worship.
