Hello Everyone. We are all working as hard as we can to make coming back to school as safe as possible. At Monday's School Board meeting it was decided to move the start date of school to Thursday, August 27th and not have a back to school picnic. There was a lot of discussion about the re-opening plan which will be available very soon but here are some highlights. Social distancing measures will be put into place. If social distancing cannot be achieved the staff will wear a mask. Some areas of the school may require masks because of space and/or health concerns. Mask are encouraged on the buses to protect our awesome bus drivers. Outside visitors to the building will be extremely limited as we start the year. We are also going to stagger recesses, lunch will be in some classrooms, rotate teachers and not students, take temperatures and have designated hand washing times to name a few other procedures that are being implemented. Thank you in advance for your trust and patience as we all know plans will have to be altered as new information arises. Have a great weekend everybody.

I can't believe it is the last day of July. A huge thank you to everyone that promptly filled out the school survey. That was very helpful in developing our plan to keep our students, staff and community as safe as possible. If on the survey you indicated your child/children may not come back to the building in August, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you could do this by Monday, August 3rd I would appreciate it. Thank you and have a great weekend.

The Wellness center will be opening tomorrow from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM (barring the computer system works properly). These will be the new hours for the next couple of weeks. Please wipe down the equipment you use BEFORE and AFTER you use it. There are several spray bottles located around the wellness center to ensure proper sterilization. Adhering to the CDC guidelines and using proper cleaning practices should help us keep everyone safe that is using our facility. Thank you for your patience during this closure. Acquiring the proper signage and cleaning products proved a little harder than we expected. Thanks everyone and stay safe.

A few items to bring to your attention. These processes will continue until the end of the school. Friday and Monday are no school days so we will deliver meals tomorrow for Wednesday and Thursday and next week we will deliver on Tuesday for all four days next week. If you would like to be added to the list please let me know prior to Friday to be put on the list for the week to follow. This will help us tremendously with planning, food prep and routes. Thanks so much to all the people that assist in preparing and delivering the meals. Work will be in the East Entryway by Monday and will be delivered on Tuesday with the meals next week. Otherwise we will stay with the Monday/Wednesday schedule for the rest of the year. Keep the homework coming in. Parents and guardians you are doing a great job assisting in the progression of your child's education. Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to reach out with questions. We are still planning on doing driver's education this summer even though we don't quite know how it is going to look yet. If your child is turning 14 before the end of June next year, email me if you are interested in taking drivers ed. email@example.com Stay healthy, safe and enjoy the long weekend.
I would have much rather woke up super early this morning to check if we were going to have school on time, a late start or not at all, but this is our new normal and we are doing the best we can. Here are a couple updates. The USDA has been working hard with schools so we can provide meals to our students. Reminder that we deliver breakfasts and lunches for each day of the week on Mondays and Wednesdays. These meals are at no cost. Those on the list will continue to get meals until the school is notified differently. If someone wants to be added to the list please let me know. firstname.lastname@example.org Also remember that on Monday morning the work for next week will be ready for K-5 in the East Entryway of the school. Bring back last weeks work and place it in the bin for your child's class. Anything not picked up will be delivered by our awesome bus drivers on Wednesday. There is hand sanitizer and wipes in the entryway for your safety. If you do not feel well or have any flu-like symptoms please do not bring work into the entryway. 6-12 students be sure you are checking your K-12 school email and Schoology accounts. Thanks so much and have a wonderful safe weekend.

Senior trip will be postponed and other options were discussed. Remember that work to be picked up for the week will be in the East Entryway every Monday. The bins to turn in completed work are in the same place. That door is always unlocked and there is hand sanitizer and hard surface wipes for your safety. If items are not picked up by Wednesday they will be delivered. Lunch deliveries will continue. Please contact the school or myself if you would like to be added to the list. Thanks to everyone. I was so impressed with the work that came in yesterday and how much is being submitted online. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
The school will continue to provide meals to the families that request them. Deliveries will be Mondays and Wednesdays. Please be available to receive your meals between 9:00 and 10:30. If anyone wishes to be added to the list contact the school or myself. Stay safe.

Hey 7th Math/8th Math/PreAlgebra Students and Parents: 30 minutes of IXL Skills each day can keep your children on track this week! I've set up skill sheets on your student's Schoology. (Pictures of what I'm referring to are attached. These are 7th grade, but 8th and PreAlgebra have them too!) Incentives? I thought you'd never ask... Not only will this be a great review of concepts we've covered, but for each sheet completed (Smart Score of 80 and up), your student will be able to cross out 5 problems off his/her semester test, which is normally 25- 30 problems.
