ANNOUNCEMENTS:

· Order your prom glasses now – sign up in the office – cost is $7 and you must pre-pay – deadline to order is Wednesday, February 29^th

· One Act Play will have practice Monday after school

· The One Act Play will be sharing their performance to the public on Wednesday, February 1^st @ 7:00PM in the RHS gymnasium

· High School Chorus will have study hall today – please bring something to work on during this hour – Mrs, Kemnitz

· Congratulations to the BBB team on your win against Wheaton – WAY TO GO RAIDERS!

· Congratulations to Koby J. on reaching your 1000 points in basketball

· Knowledge Bowl practice next Tuesday and Thursday @ 7:42AM in Mr. Grieger’s room

· One Act Play will perform at the State One Act Play Festival @ 12:30PM on Thursday, February 2^nd at the Johnson Fine Art Center @ NSU in Aberdeen

· FCCLA will be displaying the artwork they have received thus far at the ball games tonight and Friday in the link for the public to view. They will also have People’s Choice nomination sheets available for the public to vote on their favorite artwork

· The following students will be gone Friday, January 27^th for All-State Band auditions – Austin E., Hailey L., Vanessa P., and

Logan M.

· Concessions for the GBB game Friday is Robert, Taylor, & Adam w/set-up @ 5:30PM and Chase S., Jada, & Carl w/close @ 7:00PM

· Juniors – if you have not brought in your taco meat, please do so ASAP

· Snowball week is next week and dress up days are Monday-Clash Day; Tuesday-Senior Citizen Day; Wednesday-Twin Day; Thursday-Raider Pride Day; Friday-Backwards/Inside out Day

· FCCLA members will be selling “Links” to create a chain to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network (Sanford Children’s Hospital). Each link is $1 or 6 links for $5. We will be unveiling our chain (at this point at an undetermined time) to show how much money we have raised. The chain will then be combined with other FCCLA groups at the State Convention in April. We have 500 links to start and it is our goal to sell them all! The links will be sold at our home basketball games or see an FCCLA member

· Snowball Dance for grades 7-12 is FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3^RD (NOTE DATE CHANGE) from 8:00-12:00PM at the Rosholt Community Center– cost is $5/person and you pay at the door – sign up in the office so we can get a count for pizza and soda

· The following seniors need to turn in a composite (vertical) picture to Mrs. Gallagher – Bob, Megan, Hanna, Haley E, Hayley F., Koby, Mark, Abbey, Kyle, Jasmine S., and Jasmine W.

· The following seniors need to turn in a baby picture to Mrs. Gallagher – Bob, Amy, Megan, Hanna, Austin, Haley E., Hayley F., Koby, Abbey, Kyle, Jasmine S., and Jasmine W.

· The following seniors need to turn in a picture for the yearbook to Mrs. Gallagher – Bob, Megan, Hanna, Austin, Haley E., Hayley F., Koby, Mark, Abbey, Kyle, Jasmine S., and Jasmine W.

· The office currently has 4 USB 2.0GB flash drives for sale – cost is $12/each

GUIDANCE/COLLEGE/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:

· Traverse Electric Cooperative is again participating in the Basin Electric Power Cooperative scholarship program – this is for seniors whose parents are members of Traverse Electric – winner is awarded a $1000 scholarship – if interested contact Traverse Electric Cooperative @ 800-927-5443 for an application – deadline for accepting applications is February 18, 2012

· Traverse Electric will sponsor one (1) student, age 16-18 whose parents are members of Traverse Electric, interested is going on the 2012 Youth Tour to Washington, DC June 16-21, 2012 (all expenses paid) – applicants are required to submit a 200 word essay on the subject “How is a cooperative different from an investor owned utility?” – essays will be judged on originality, composition, neatness, & grammar – applications must be submitted by February 27, 2012 – if interested contact Traverse Electric Cooperative @ 800-927-5443 or see Mr. Appel

· The 2012 SD American Legion Boys State will begin on May 28^th – applications must be returned prior to February 3, 2012 – applications selected will be notified by February 22, 2012 – if interested stop in the office to pick up an application

· Any Juniors interested in attending the 33^rd Annual Youth Business Adventure (YBA) should contact Mrs. Hustel – the deadline for applications is February 10, 2012 – during YBA you may obtain 2 college credits for under $100 for participating in the program – there is also an opportunity to win a matched $500 college or technical institute scholarship – last year Rosholt had 3 students who attended YBA
